The Persol 3288S sunglasses bring together Italian heritage and modern rectangular styling in a frame designed for everyday wear. Since 1917, Persol—from the Italian per il sole, meaning “for the sun”—has built its reputation on handcrafted quality and comfort-first engineering, and the 3288S delivers both.
The 3288S features Persol’s patented Meflecto technology, the world’s first flexible temple system created in the 1930s. The system uses metal cylinders and a harmonic steel core embedded into the acetate temples, allowing them to bend and adapt to your unique face shape without losing their form. This eliminates pressure points that cause headaches during extended wear—a real advantage if you wear sunglasses all day. The visible Meflecto bands on the temples (those distinctive lines you see in the photos) aren’t just decorative; they mark the flex points that make these frames exceptionally comfortable.
The frame is full-rim acetate in a clean rectangular shape (55mm lens width, 19mm bridge, 145mm temples) that suits most face shapes. Persol’s acetate is hand-finished in Italy from cotton and powdery pigments, creating unique color variations in each frame—the rich havana and striped brown options show beautiful depth and translucency. Look closely at the temples and you’ll spot the signature silver arrow, inspired by ancient warriors’ swords and a Persol trademark since the brand’s early days. The lenses offer 100% UV protection, and polarized options are available in select colorways for glare reduction on water or pavement.
These frames accept prescription lenses, including single-vision, progressive, and polarized Rx options. The saddle bridge and full-rim construction provide a stable platform for custom lenses.
Available in five colorways: black with green lenses (95/31), havana tortoise with green or polarized brown lenses (24/31, 24/57), striped brown with light blue lenses (960/56), and transparent taupe grey with polarized black lenses (110348). Each pair ships with a Persol protective case.
