The B979 is a full rim rectangular frame in acetate. Nothing in the sizing is gender-specific. The 50-15-135 figures put the lens at 50 mm with a 15 mm bridge and 135 mm arms. The straight top and bottom lines cut against a rounder face.
The rim closes fully around the lens. A single bar runs across the nose. Acetate can be worked into a thicker front without adding visual weight.
