The SF-581 is built from acetate, a plant-based material derived from cotton and wood pulp. Acetate frames offer better flexibility and durability than standard injection-molded plastic, resisting warping while maintaining their shape over time. The material is naturally hypoallergenic, making it comfortable for extended wear without skin irritation. Available in three versatile colors—Navy Coffee, Grey, and Black Tortoise—the acetate construction allows for rich, fade-resistant color that won’t chip or peel like painted frames.
These frames feature spring hinges (also called flex hinges) that allow the temples to extend beyond the standard 90-degree angle.
