Where the original 1980s acetate Clubmaster featured a thick plastic browline over rounded lenses, the 3716VM uses a thin metal browline in a semi-rimless design—the metal upper rim traces the top of the lenses while the bottom edge remains open, creating a lighter, more minimal profile than the acetate version.
The frame is built from stainless steel throughout—bridge, browline, temples, and signature rivets. The semi-rimless (half-rim) structure reduces weight compared to full-rim frames, which you’ll notice during long wear.
