The Persol Guido 3393S sunglasses bring Italian heritage and contemporary design together in a pillow-shaped frame that’s both distinctive and versatile. Named after the Italian word for “guide,” the Guido represents Persol’s latest interpretation of its century-old commitment to functional elegance—sunglasses built for real life, not just the runway.
Persol was founded in Turin by Giuseppe Ratti to create protective eyewear for pilots and race car drivers. The brand name itself—”per il sole,” meaning “for the sun”—reflects that original purpose. Today, every Persol frame is still handmade in Italy using cellulose acetate derived from cotton and powdery pigments, creating color variations unique to each pair. The 3393S features a soft pillow shape with a refined double bridge that adds structure without weight, and the signature Supreme Arrow adorns each temple—a design inspired by ancient warrior swords that’s been the brand’s emblem since the 1930s.
The frame is available in six colorways, from classic black with green lenses (95/31) and Havana tortoise (24/31) to the warm Terra Di Siena brown with light blue lenses (96/56). Polarized options include black with gradient grey (95/M3) and brown with gradient brown (1169M2), cutting glare for driving and water activities. All lenses provide 100% UV protection.
The 3393S is fully prescription-ready, so you can add single vision or progressive lenses through your optician. The acetate construction keeps the frames lightweight, and the 20mm bridge with full-rim design suits a range of face shapes—particularly those with angular features, as the pillow shape softens hard lines. Available in 56mm and 59mm lens widths with 145mm temples, the frame fits medium to larger faces comfortably.
While this model doesn’t feature Persol’s famous Meflecto flexible temple system (found in the 649 and other classics), the quality acetate and careful Italian construction ensure a secure, balanced fit for all-day wear. The temples are medium width, distributing pressure evenly without pinching.
