The frame front is constructed from Oakley’s proprietary O-Matter—a lightweight, stress-resistant nylon composite that’s 25% lighter than traditional acetate and twice as strong. O-Matter flexes under impact and returns to its original shape, making it ideal for active use. The material also resists heat and cold extremes without becoming brittle, so your frames hold up whether you’re on the trail or commuting in winter.
Thin stainless steel temples keep the overall weight down while adding durability. The temples are wrapped in Unobtainium earsocks—Oakley’s signature grip material that actually increases traction when you sweat. If you’ve ever had glasses slip during a workout or a long day outdoors, you’ll notice the difference.
The Metalink 8153 includes three sets of interchangeable Unobtainium nosepads, so you can dial in the fit that works for your face. The 4-base lens curvature is designed to accommodate a wide range of prescriptions—single vision, progressive, or readers—without optical distortion. Available in 53mm, 55mm, and 57mm lens widths with a 17mm bridge and 136mm temples, the rectangular full-rim shape suits round and oval faces particularly well.
