The McAllister MC4544 eyeglasses bring together classic American eyewear heritage and modern affordability. These rectangle acetate frames feature a full-rim design that works equally well for men and women, available in three versatile colors: Black, Navy, and Tortoise.
The MC4544 is constructed from high-quality acetate—a plant-based material that’s hypoallergenic, lightweight, and more durable than standard plastic. Acetate frames resist wear and maintain their color over time because the pigment is embedded into the material rather than painted on. The smooth finish sits comfortably against your skin all day, making these frames ideal for extended wear whether you’re working, reading, or out and about.
At 52mm lens width, 21mm bridge, and 145mm temple length, the MC4544 offers a medium fit that accommodates most face shapes. The full-rim construction provides excellent lens security and works well with stronger prescriptions, as the frame edge helps conceal lens thickness.
These frames are prescription-ready and compatible with single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The rectangle shape is particularly flattering on round and oval faces, adding definition and balance. The clean lines and moderate proportions make the MC4544 appropriate for professional settings while remaining stylish enough for everyday casual wear.
McAllister honors the legacy of John McAllister, who opened America’s first optical shop in Philadelphia in 1799 and is considered a founder of American optometry. Today’s McAllister collection, produced under Altair Eyewear, continues that tradition with gender-neutral designs that emphasize quality materials and thoughtful construction at accessible price points.
