The Maui Jim PULAMA MJ618 Sunglasses pair carbon fiber construction with the brand’s PolarizedPlus2 lens technology. This rectangular unisex frame comes from Maui Jim, a company founded in 1980 in Lahaina, Hawaii, known for its polarized lens systems.
The PULAMA features a carbon fiber frame that’s durable, lightweight, and hypoallergenic. Carbon fiber resists everyday wear while staying comfortable for extended use. The frame includes Maui Jim’s slash mid-temple design and adjustable rubber temple tips with the brand’s wavy pattern for a secure fit. The 59mm lens width, 12mm bridge, and 145mm temples provide medium-to-large coverage.
Every PULAMA frame comes with SuperThin Glass lenses—noticeably thinner and lighter than conventional glass—offering excellent optical clarity with superior scratch resistance. The PolarizedPlus2 technology eliminates 99.9% of glare while blocking 100% of harmful UV and high-energy visible (HEV) blue light. Unlike basic sunglasses that just darken your view, PolarizedPlus2 lenses are designed to boost color saturation, making reds, greens, and blues appear more vivid while maintaining natural contrast.
The PULAMA is available in four lens options: Neutral Grey (the darkest option, ideal for bright direct sunlight and water activities), HCL Bronze (a warm high-contrast lens for variable everyday conditions), Maui HT (a high-transmission lens that adds contrast in lower light, useful for driving and golf), and Neutral Grey with mirror coatings. Each lens includes anti-reflective treatment on the backside to reduce bounce-back glare, plus oleophobic and hydrophobic coatings that repel water, oil, and smudges.
The PULAMA MJ618 is fully compatible with prescription lenses if you need vision correction. Maui Jim’s prescription lab can fit these frames with single-vision or progressive lenses in the same PolarizedPlus2 materials, maintaining the color enhancement and glare elimination features.
