The KNEX 028 Eyeglasses are built for kids who don’t slow down. These full-rim rectangle frames combine flexible TR90 material on the front with TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) on the hinges and temples—a smart pairing that bends, twists, and bounces back to shape instead of snapping under pressure. Parents know the drill: glasses get dropped, sat on, tossed in backpacks, and yanked off during recess. The 028 handles it.
TR90 is about 20–25% lighter than standard plastic, so these frames sit comfortably on smaller faces without digging into the bridge or behind the ears. The material is also hypoallergenic, BPA-free, and latex-free—safe for sensitive skin and daily wear. The single-bridge design eliminates nose pads, reducing pinch points and the risk of irritation. Temple tips are made from soft TPE, which grips gently and flexes when kids pull the frames on and off (not always carefully).
These frames accept prescription lenses, including impact-resistant polycarbonate or Trivex options recommended for children. The 50mm lens width and 15mm bridge fit most kids comfortably, and the 120mm temples provide a secure fit without squeezing. Available in three color options—Matte Crystal Grey with orange accents, classic Black with blue details, and Matte Crystal—the 028 offers enough variety for kids to pick a pair they’ll actually want to wear. Consistent wear matters, and frames that feel good and look decent to a seven-year-old make that easier.
KNEX was founded by the same company known for educational construction toys, and the eyewear line carries that same focus on durability and real-world use. These aren’t fashion frames trying to survive childhood—they’re designed for it from the start.
