The Santiago frame is constructed from 97% recycled fishing nets recovered from Chilean fishing communities, transformed through Costa’s partnership with Bureo into a durable NetPlus material. The remaining 3% is a performance additive engineered to help you land every fish you chase. Each pair diverts approximately 17 grams of discarded nets from the ocean—nets that would otherwise entangle marine life for decades. The recycled aluminum logo plate and full-rim acetate construction deliver the durability Costa is known for, now with a measurable environmental impact.
The Santiago’s 580G polarized glass lenses are where Costa’s 40+ years of lens expertise shine. The 580 technology filters harmful light at 580 nanometers on the visible spectrum, blocking harsh yellow wavelengths that distort clarity while enhancing reds, greens, and blues. The result: you’ll spot fish, structure, and bottom contours with definition that standard polarized lenses can’t match.
