These fishing sunglasses with readers combine both in one frame, using Costa’s patented C-Mate bifocal technology that adds magnification to the lower portion of the lens—without any visible line separating the bifocal area.
Every pair features Costa’s legendary 580P polarized lenses, engineered to do more than just block glare. The multi-patented 580 technology filters out harsh yellow light at 580 nanometers and blocks harmful high-energy blue (HEV) light, which reduces eye strain and enhances color. Reds, greens, and blues pop naturally, giving you sharper contrast and better definition on the water. All Costa lenses provide 100% UV protection and 100% polarization to eliminate reflected glare from the surface.
The 580P polycarbonate lenses are lightweight and impact-resistant, ideal for active days on the water. Costa’s C-Wall molecular bond coating adds scratch resistance and repels water, oil, and sweat for easy cleaning. An anti-reflective coating on the back surface eliminates bounce-back reflections.
The Brine Readers are available in three magnification powers: +1.50, +2.00, and +2.50. The bifocal area sits in the lower third of the lens, so you get full distance vision when looking straight ahead and instant magnification when you glance down to tie a hook, bait a line, or check your fish finder. Because there’s no visible bifocal line, nobody will know you’re wearing readers.
The frame is built from durable TR-90 nylon, a bio-resin material that’s strong, lightweight, and holds its shape under harsh conditions. The medium fit (59mm lens width, 18mm bridge) works well for average-sized faces. An 8-base wrap design provides maximum coverage and helps reduce light leak from the sides, while front-facing vents promote airflow to minimize fogging.
Hydrolite rubber lines the nose pads and temple tips, absorbing sweat and keeping the frames locked in place even when wet. Integral hinges add durability.
