The R557 is a full rim cat-eye frame in cellulose acetate. Nothing in the sizing is gender-specific. The 51-17-135 figures put the lens at 51 mm with a 17 mm bridge and 135 mm arms. Lifted temples add height at the cheekbone.
A full rim holds the lens on all four sides. The bridge is one clean line at the center. Acetate can be worked into a thicker front without adding visual weight.
