The Wiley X Climate Control Boss is a high-wrap protective sunglass built for riders, outdoor workers, and anyone who needs serious eye protection without compromise. Part of Wiley X’s Climate Control series, the Boss features a removable Facial Cavity Seal—a patented foam gasket that blocks wind, dust, pollen, and peripheral light, creating a sealed environment around your eyes. Snap it in for highway rides or dusty job sites, pop it out for everyday wear.
The Boss is designed with a medium-to-large fit (68mm lens width, 125mm temples) and a bold, high-wrap frame that sits close to your face. Wide temples block side light, and the aggressive 8-base curve delivers 180-degree protection. Customers with larger heads consistently report the Boss fits where other frames don’t, and the included adjustable T-Peg elastic strap keeps the frame locked in place at high speeds.
The Boss is prescription-ready, and the RX Rim variant accommodates a wider range of prescriptions (up to +5.00 to -7.00 total power). The RX Rim adapter converts the frame from an 8-base wrap to a flatter 6-base lens, reducing distortion for stronger prescriptions while maintaining the protective wrap design. Standard prescription range without the adapter is +2.00 to -4.00 total power.
Every Boss frame meets ANSI Z87.1 high-velocity and high-mass impact standards, plus US Federal OSHA 1910.133(b)(1)(1) requirements. The shatterproof Selenite polycarbonate lenses feature T-Shell scratch-resistant coating and provide 100% UVA/UVB protection with distortion-free clarity. Available in multiple lens options including Smoke Grey (15% light transmission), Silver Flash, Clear, and Captivate Polarized Blue Mirror.
Each Boss comes with a removable Facial Cavity Seal, T-Peg elastic strap, zippered case, leash cord, and cleaning cloth. Replacement foam gaskets (standard and thicker versions) are available separately.
