Unlike traditional prescription sunglasses that integrate the Rx directly into curved shield lenses, the ODS 5 uses a two-lens system. Your prescription sits in a separate carrier that mounts inside the frame, positioned behind Smith’s ChromaPop™ or other performance outer lenses. This design solves a problem that’s plagued athletes for years: getting strong prescriptions into wraparound frames without optical distortion or reduced protection.
The adapter features integrated rubber bumpers that stabilize the prescription lenses and prevent scratching against the outer shield.
