Every De Soto comes equipped with Oakley’s Prizm lens technology, developed through over 15 years of research into color science and how the human eye processes light. Unlike traditional tints that simply darken your view, Prizm lenses selectively block certain wavelengths while maximizing contrast, enhancing detail and reducing eye fatigue. The De Soto’s frame is constructed from Oakley’s proprietary O Matter material—a nylon-based thermoplastic that’s 25% lighter than traditional acetate with superior impact resistance. This injection-molded material offers superior flexibility, designed to withstand everything from UV exposure to temperature extremes without becoming brittle or deforming over time. The temples feature injected construction for a secure, comfortable fit that stays put during activity, while the 59mm lens width and narrow-high bridge fit geometry accommodate a range of face shapes. At approximately 136mm frame width, the De Soto sits comfortably for all-day wear without pressure points.
The De Soto 9494 is fully prescription-ready, so you can add your Rx lenses without sacrificing Oakley’s optical precision or the frame’s bold aesthetic. The rectangular shape provides ample lens real estate for prescription work, and the durable O Matter construction ensures your custom lenses stay protected. All Oakley lenses—prescription or not—are made from Plutonite polycarbonate, which blocks 100% of UVA, UVB, UVC, and harmful blue light up to 400nm.
