The TX171 is a full rim squared frame in cellulose acetate. The bridge and temple lengths are set for men. The 55-17-140 figures put the lens at 55 mm with a 17 mm bridge and 140 mm arms. Straight edges keep the face reading angular.
The front is framed all the way around. Two bars sit across the top of the front. Acetate can be worked into a thicker front without adding visual weight. The colourway is Khaki (colour code 60).
